What We Believe
We believe, teach, and confess the Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe, teach, and confess that God is the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen. (Genesis 1-2).
We believe, teach, and confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and the gospel as the power of God for the salvation of all who believe in Him. Jesus is the only way, the only truth, and the only life that can bring salvation and eternal life (John 14:6) and yet He has made this promise available to the world (John 3:16-17).
We believe, teach, and confess that Jesus Christ is the Word of God incarnate, through whom everything was made and through whose life, death, and resurrection God fashions new creations in both our own bodies and in the world at His second coming (John 1:1-5).
We believe, teach, and confess that the Holy Spirit is the giver of life, the creator of faith, and the distributor of gifts for all persons that come to faith in the Triune God (1 Corinthians 12 & Galatians 5:22).
The proclamation of God's message to us as both law and gospel is the Word of God, revealing judgment and mercy in the person and work of Jesus Christ through whom God was pleased to reconcile all things to himself.
The canonical Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God. Inspired by God's Spirit speaking through their authors, they record and announce God's revelation centering in Jesus Christ. Through them God's Spirit speaks to us to create and sustain Christian faith and fellowship for service in the world.
We believe, teach, and accept the canonical Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the inspired Word of God and the sole authoritative source and norm of our proclamation, faith, and life. The canonical Scriptures are without error and the only true authoritative standard for the Christian faith.
We believe and confess that all human beings are sinners (Romans 3:23). Through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God alone justifies sinners by faith in Christ—a faith which God creates through the proclamation of the good news of Jesus Christ as revealed in God’s inspired Word (Ephesians 2:8). As ambassadors for Christ, God uses us to speak his Word and build his kingdom.
